Xiaomi sets up 3 more manufacturing units - printed circuit board assembly

The company did not disclose the investment figures for the establishment of a manufacturing plant, which pushed India's manufacturing plan, chinese handset maker Xiaomi announced on Monday that it will set up three new smartphone manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

"We had two smart phone manufacturing factories before.
Now, we have set up three more companies in Sri Lanka City, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to work with Foxconn, "said Manu Jain, vice president and general manager of Xiaomi India.
Jain said that this will double Xiaomi's production capacity in India to reach two mobile phones per second during operating hours and will employ more than 10,000 employees, of which 95% will be women
