As chief executive of energy storage company sustapler, Thomas Zarrella can afford an impressive car series, including Mercedes-Benz --
Mercedes-Benz 80se, among other foreign vehicles.
Zarrella collects these vehicles as blue-chip investments and carefully tracks the value of each vehicle.
But while Zarrella's car is an investment, one is not for sale.
The car is a 1958 Porsche sports car, sometimes referred to as the "bathhouse" due to its unique shape ".
Zarrella says he has coveted the car since he went to college and will never consider selling it.
"Not in my lifetime," he said . "
"I will cherish this car forever . . . . . . When you drive this car and take it out, there will be that warm feeling in your belly.
Zarrella's interest in cars began when he opened a car store in high school.
After graduation, Zarrella worked as a golf caddie at a country club in Connecticut to pay for college tuition.
"After graduating from college, they have more money than my school loan," he said . ".
"I couldn't afford it until a few years later.
Zarrella will receive a degree in mechanical engineering and begin his career in the aerospace industry.
Before being discovered in New Hampshire, he was recruited into the solar industry by a company based in Massachusetts.
The energy storage technology company based in sustatham served as president and CEO of the company in 2010.
By January 2011 Zarrella began collecting cars.
He bought a Pontiac GTO and a Mercedes.
In his collection, the Mercedes-Benz 80se convertible is now ready to make it a reality to have his dream car, the Porsche sports car.
As the seller said, he started searching the Internet for speeding people and eventually found a "really beautiful bone" for sale in California ".
The car needs some work and the owner will only sell it under one condition.
"They said, 'it's great that we don't sell like we do now.
"We won't sell it unless someone recovers," Zarrella said . ".
Zarrella points out that the look of this speeding car is black and the interior is red.
However, a former owner reversed the color of the car by painting the car in red and giving it a black interior.
So Zarrella bought the Porsche and agreed to bring the car back to normal glory-all without looking at it.
Over the course of the year, he will receive photos detailing the Porsche repair process.
At the end of 2011, Zarella and his wife went to Palm Springs for a holiday party.
Although the repair of the car has not been fully completed, he finally saw his car with his own eyes.
"It's very exciting," he said . "
"It looks like it rolled down from the showroom floor.
The paint work is absolutely amazing.
Today, speeding cars are still at the heart of the Zarrella car series.
Zarrella said that while it took nearly a year to finally get his dream car, the process was impressive.
An open experience like "getting a PhD in auto repair.
Today, he likes to drive a Porsche near Gloucester where he lives, but only if the weather is pleasant enough.
The license plate says "BKLST 2", which means Zarrella is able to view the car from his list.
"This is a dream come true, my speedster," he said . ".
"I never thought about collecting my collection, but it was the inspiration I had to keep going.
