Britain's biggest energy user has called on the government to address gas safety after the country's largest storage facility is closed.
In a letter to Energy Minister Greg Clark, an industry association group, trade unions and energy storage companies asked the government to consider the risk of a severe price increase due to tight supply, as the UK relies on imported natural gas, lack of storage capacity.
The letter, signed by the major energy User Council and the leaders of the Energy and Utilities Alliance, the UK's exit from the EU "poses an obvious problem ", because it may make it more difficult to import goods from other members of the European Economic Area.
