As a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for nearly six months, I am not surprised why it is the most popular destination for visitors to Nevada.
During the day, it is a bustling oasis, a place for interesting daily activities such as shopping, hot air balloon travel and bungee jumping, and one of the tallest buildings in the West.
In the evening, it is known for its reputation as the capital of the world's entertainment, with stunning nightlife and stunning views of the lights.
But what I really want to focus on is that locals in Nevada already know that Las Vegas is not the only amazing thing in Nevada.
For adventurous and hardworking travelers, the state can offer more.
In fact, there are hundreds of unique places in southern Nevada alone, but I will list three of my favorites.
I listed Pahrump first because it was where I lived for almost thirteen years before moving to Las Vegas.
This is an antique town, 60 miles west of the capital of entertainment, along the Blue Diamond/160.
Pahrump is usually a stop for tourists on their way to Death Valley under Route 372 (

The harvest festival is really an expression of the strong community bond of pahrump parks and how they can have fun.
The start and end dates of the festival vary each year, but usually start in the middle and late September for a weekend and start on Friday.

Charleston is a breed of hiking.
About 52 miles on foot, there seems to always be another trail waiting to explore.
It was a great family experience and it was just as fun to go alone or with friends.

While it may seem a bit strange to some, the hiking dates are really fun and more personal than watching a movie. Mt.
Charleston is definitely my favorite place in southern Nevada.
