Tesla has reached half.
It plans to build the world's largest battery in South Australia.
The plan to build a 100 MW (129MWh) lithium battery stems from Tesla boss Elon Musk and Australian software entrepreneur Mike Cannon's bet on Twitter --Brookes.
Tesla will generate wind power, Musk said.
Charge within 100 days, otherwise the state will not have to pay for it.
It aims to help prevent power outages that often hit the area.
Critics say the region's reliance on renewable energy is making it vulnerable.
Twitter's conversation has sparked a series of events in Australia, with Tesla's three competitors trying to weaken the company in terms of price and energy store operating hours.
This has led to the invitation of Tesla, Zen Energy, Carnegie Clean Energy and the Lyon group to bid for a portion of the $ a150 m (88 m) South Australian government funds dedicated to the manufacture of batteries and other renewable Energy sources.
Tesla won the deal and paired it with French company Neoen, who will build a wind farm next to the battery.
Tesla gave itself a great opportunity.
Because the construction of the battery started long before the clock began to count down, the deadline was set.
Official countdown to the 100 end-
Following the approval of the project by the Australian Energy Regulator, the deadline starts on September 30.
Musk said Tesla would lose about $50 ($38) if it missed the deadline ).
