Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis says all street lights from all municipal companies will be replaced by LED lights.
As part of the central street light program, this replacement will be carried out in the state (SLNP).

Signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
20 lakh LED street lamps are installed throughout the state.
An official said the move is expected to save 500 megawatts of electricity, and electricity is expected to be reduced by at least 50.
According to the agreement, LED lights will be set up on the streets of all major cities in the state, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Sadala, Sanli and South Germany.
Under this project, the existing sodium steam will be replaced by LED bulbs and the Mercury Steam bulbs will remain for seven years.
Fadnavis said that the light bulb replacement work will be completed by the end of December 2018.
