Meander Valley Council was opened to its community and became the first community in the north to replace street lights with energyefficient LEDs.In the Council's first step to becoming energy smart, the winding valley area has replaced more than 1400 street lights.The Council celebrated the completion of the first phase of the Northern Lights movement on Wednesday.
White, MP for Meander Valley, said street lights have been replaced by 14-watt LED lights."This will save 82% of the emissions of old greenhouse gases," she said ."."The cost of the project will be realized within 8 years.
xa0Since then, we will save money on the economy and on greenhouse gas emissions.Ixa0I think this is equivalent to getting 300 cars on the road.The committee launched the project five years ago, and all other northern committees joined the project.
