Gajagadi hamlet, an inaccessible tribal village in Thirunelly grama panchayat, Wayanad district, has been illuminated by solar energy since Tuesday with all their thatched houses
The shift was brought about by the solar system installed by officials from the North waarnader Forest Division.
Gajagadi hamlet is located on the legs of the Begur forest under the Forest Division of North waarnader, with 102 members of 29 families.
Members of the colony belong to the Kattunayaka tribe, a primitive tribal group.
Even in modern times, the infrastructure is far from tribal coverage.
Members of the tribe still need to trek about 5 km kilometers to reach Hamlet from the main road.
