Companies involved in the project include Flexitricity-based, Flexisolar, Turbo Power Systems, and smart Power Systems.
They are now looking for websites to participate in the trial later this year. Up to 150 V2G-
Electric vehicles, which are expected to be launched in six locations, will be involved in the project.
The consortium said the project will consider integrating "various battery storage options" that will allow a large number of electric vehicles to be charged without giving the already-
Constraint grid.
The study will also try to show that car park owners such as airports, train operators and retail centers will benefit from a "sustainable revenue stream ".
The consortium says it aims to "help push the electric car revolution" and expects 9 million electric vehicles to hit the UK by 2030.
Alastair Martin, chief strategy officer, Flexitricity, said: "Being able to use the grid to charge in a short period of time --
Friendly infrastructure will have a huge impact on the electric vehicle market
This is really a question about how fast we can deliver this capability.
"We are now looking forward to identifying partner sites and starting trials later this year, which will drive the growth of the electric vehicle market as we strive to deliver a solution, and bring transformation benefits to drivers, car park operators and energy reconstructionsellers.
