According to the Green Party's proposed 100,000 tax refund, more than one Washington state family can fully power their own solar cells within five years.
In the party's first major election promise, House of Lords candidate Tim Clifford said many people are currently unable to pay for battery units.
The rebate proposed by Green will allow individuals to increase the cost of their storage systems to half of $5,000 in the first year and reduce it to $1,500 in five years.
The $0. 29 billion plan will also provide an advance payment of $5,000 to install solar energy for households earning less than $80,000.
Homes with solar panels in Washington state are looking for batteries to offset a sharp drop in rebate synergies.
I hope this plan will start.
Start the industry and reduce unit costs and electricity bills.
Energy Minister Mike Nahan said possible Battery subsidies have been discussed but the government will not implement them.
"We talked about this within the bureaucracy. . .
"Many people in the industry suggest this," he said . ".
"There's one in action right now, and I think it's $500 per home battery. . .
But the government has not considered, and more importantly, there will be no subsidies for batteries.
"Dr. Nahan said that the decision not to discuss the issue of subsidies had nothing to do with the government's proposal to sell Western Power.
But Mr Clifford said he needed help.
"We should be ahead of this, and because of our high electricity prices, WA is one of the most mature places in the world for battery storage and absorption. . .
High solar radiation"[But]
We don't have a renewable energy target, nor do other states.
This is frustrating and I think it's very embarrassing that we are behind other states.
"Mr Clifford said that up to 3,000 WA businesses could also benefit by allowing their battery storage assets to depreciate in three years, not 15, which could pay off their battery storage in 10 years
The plan will be common.
Funded by the removal of federal subsidies for fossil fuels and mining.
Green Party supporter Rowena Skinner uses solar panels to power her home, but says she can't afford to install battery storage.
"For most people, price is the problem and the main obstacle," she said . ". Topics:solar-
