London, June 28Reuters)-
American scientists have developed a paint that can store and deliver electricity like a battery.
Traditional lithium
Ion batteries power most portable electronic devices.
They are already very compact but limited to rectangular or cylindrical blocks.
Researchers at Rice University in Houston, Texas, have come up with a technique to break down every element of a traditional battery and incorporate it into a liquid that can be sprayed
Apply a layer on almost any surface.
Pulickel Ajayan said: "This means that the traditional packaging of batteries has been replaced by a more flexible approach that allows for a variety of new design and integration possibilities for storage devices . " Who leads the team on the project.

Painting layer, each layer represents an integral part of a traditional battery: There are two current collectors, one cathode, one anode and one polymer separator in the middle.
The paint layers are sprayed on ceramics, glass, and stainless steel, and on surfaces of different shapes, such as ceramic cups, to test their degree of bonding.

The researchers are looking for components that can be constructed in the open air to achieve a more efficient production process and greater commercial feasibility.

The researchers tested the device using nine bathroom tiles painted and connected to each other.

The results of the study were published Thursday in the journal Natural Science report.
