Lithium-Ion capacitors (LICs)
Clever lithium-
The negative electrode of the ion battery that can be reversible embedded in lithium ion, that is, graphite, and electric double-
The positive electrode of the layer is activated carbon.
However, the beauty of this concept was destroyed due to the lack of lithium
Therefore, a specific initial charging step is required.
To date, there have been drawbacks in the strategies developed to remedy this problem.
Our study reveals a unique approach based on the use of lithium-based organic materials, namely, 3,4-
Dilithium salt of dihydrogen benzene.
This compound can provide lithium ion to the graphite electrode irrevocably in the initial operation charging step without any negative impact on the further operation of LIC.
This method not only restores the low CO2 footprint of LICs, but also has a good application prospect.
Potential in designing a wide range of green mixing equipment based on other chemical components, including fully recyclable components.
