Tesla boss Elon Musk has made headlines by building a battery storage farm to address the South Australian energy crisis.
However, there are other companies waiting far away from Silicon Valley --
South Australia-
Zen energy, a Beijing-based renewable energy company, could beat Musk.
As part of a grand plan to address the South Australian power crisis, the state government hopes to attract the private sector to build Australia's largest energy storage battery by next summer.
The company will provide $0. 15 billion to subsidize storage capacity of 100 MW.
Zen Energy is already in the process of developing a $100 million solar plant, located on the Spencer Bay, with a battery storage capacity of 100 MW.
President Ross canot said the government's intention was to bring its plan closer to results.
"If we want to avoid repeating last summer's instability, we need to put it in place by December.
"We can install our batteries in less than three months, but that's not all you have to do, and there's a lot more.
"This means that the government's procedures must be very short, otherwise there will be no time.
"Professor Garnaut is an economist at 2008 Garnaut Climate Change Review, commissioned by the federal, state and regional governments to study the impact of climate change on Australia's economy.
Zen Energy still needs to compete for government bidding-
There may be several companies looking at it.
Professor Garnaut said his company's proposal will create hundreds of jobs during the construction of economically difficult areas.
"The main center of the battery will be in Port Augusta," said Professor Garnaut . ".
"We will have massive solar energy in the port of Whyalla and Pirie.
"Zen Energy has declared that its plan can" solve the Energy problems of most "countries, but it will benefit the entire state grid.
"In a way, the battery is the simplest part of the system," said Professor Garnaut . ".
"You have a control system that controls the interaction between the battery and the grid, and the upcoming renewable energy sources.
"In this world, the whole world is moving towards high renewable energy.
"The Western Australian company Carnegie Clean Energy is also keen to provide energy storage to South Australia.
Michael Ottaviano, chief executive of the company, said the state's battery plan provided opportunities for its job creation and energy storage industry.
"We already have the capacity to mature, and we can certainly provide what the SA Government and the SA people need to ensure their energy supply," he told 7 . ". 30.
"No one in Australia has built anything close to this, and it will be one of the world --
If not in the world
The largest practical battery.
"When you see the battery storage system and break it down, we have the same single component here, just more components assembled together, and we're going to talk about 40 of these systems.
I'm in front right now.
Deploy to SA.
