New Delhi: The country's first rooftop solar garage was inaugurated on Monday at a shopping center in Rohini.
The solar plant, which has appeared on the roof of the Unity One parking lot, can generate 300 KW per day, which will meet the daily needs of male 80%, greatly reducing the carbon footprint.
The plant, jointly developed by Tata electric Delhi discom and Tata electric solar, will help the mall save Rs 50 per year on electricity bills.
The initiative was established as part of the national action plan on climate change (NAPCC)

In unveiling the plant, Electricity Minister Satyendar Jain expressed appreciation for the efforts to adopt solar energy and reiterated the Delhi government's commitment to promoting rooftop solar energy.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Praveer Sinha, CEO and general manager of Tata electric Delhi, said that we have been actively involved in promoting solar energy in the country.
The launch of this garage factory is designed to encourage commercial consumers with large roof space installations to adopt solar energy.
He added that discom will continue its efforts to strengthen the use of solar energy and contribute to the National Solar Mission, which aims to make India a global leader in solar energy.
