In an experiment, the team sprayed the battery on nine bathroom tiles that were connected to each other.
One of the tiles has a solar cell charged with a white lab light.

The team said the performance of the battery was "comparable" to that of the traditional type and described the breakthrough as "a paradigm change in battery design ".
Unlike existing batteries, the paint-able version does not require additional storage space, so it is easier to integrate into existing battery designsPower equipment.

"The tiles we converted into batteries can be used to build the entire exterior wall of the house," Mr Singh said . ".
"Then, walls made of these batteries can be covered with solar cells, and this combination of solar cells and batteries can be used to capture and store solar energy into useful power.
