On Thursday, companies developing power generation systems for remote Arctic communities received strong federal and provincial support.

Wind turbines, variable speed diesel generators and advanced energy storage systems are being designed specifically for the North.

"This is an important announcement for us," Carl Brothers, managing director of cutting-edge power systems, told a news conference . ".
"Over the past 15 years, cutting-edge engineers have been developing wind energy technologies for economic applications in utilities and remote communities.
"Most of the money for export opportunities comes from the federal Atlantic Innovation Fund, which has loans of up to $1,796,186. The P. E. I.
The government has provided $100,000 in grants from its development and commercial fund.
At present, Frontier has 8 employees, and it is expected that 14 more employees will be created in the new project.
