Sweden's Northwater said on Thursday that it had chosen a location in the far north of the country and planned to build Europe's largest battery plant, because the company continues to seek billions of euros to fund the program.
Northworth and others are racing to build big-
European-scale battery factories, so far auto and industrial companies have relied heavily on Asian imports, although demand for electricity has begun to pick up.
The decision to site a battery plant is the latest step in achieving Northvolt's ambitious plan, although it still has billions of euros in financing to ensure.
South Korea's LG Chemical said last week it would open up Europe's largest lithium-
Next year, the ion battery plant in Poland employs 2,500 workers to produce up to 100,000 electric vehicle batteries per year.
Peter Carlsson, chief executive of Northwater, said the plant would be located in skelleff tea and would eventually employ 2,000 employees.
2,500 people, the main research and development action will be set up by westrose, because of the west of Sweden.
"If the environmental process and other allowed actions go as planned, we will be able to put the shovel on the Earth later in 2018 and build the first eight giva hours," Carlson said at a press conference.
In the far north, the plant will leave factories near Sweden's main mining and mineral resources cluster, home to a large number of workers in industries such as metals
Have sufficient energy and work capacity.
Northwater says the rail connection is already deep for other industries in the northern region and Skelleftea-
Seaport, which means that the transportation cost will not be too high due to the location of the factory.
Karsong said Northwater was in talks with several companies about the purchase of key battery components such as nickel, cobalt and lithium, but declined to set a deadline for a deal to be reached.
Tesla's former executive, Carlsson's Northvolt, wants the Swedish factory to match the size of the United States. S.
Electric vehicle manufacturers are located at the Gigabit plant in the Nevada desert with the goal of producing batteries equivalent to 32 gigawatts per year
By the hours of 2023 this will make it much larger than the Polish factory at LG Chem.

Investment to realize its battery plant plan is currently seeking to raise between 80 million and 100 million euros to finance the pre-fundingProduction line.

We will be able to show the results of the future, "karsong said.
