The airflow battery for applications that require long-time, high-capacity storage has successfully generated a branching zinc fuel using its new "linear" regeneration module.
The fuel regeneration process requires applying current on the relative electrodes of each regenerative battery.
The particles of Zincare "grow" on the cathode and oxygen evolve on the anode.
Zinc particles are cleaned regularly from the cathode using the same electrolytic protein they produce, and then stored in the fuel tank.
Oxygen is then released into the atmosphere.
In order to increase the capacity of the fully generated module, a series of flexible regeneration units are arranged together.
The successful operation of the regeneration module represents the climax of the development of the entire ZRS.
This includes the mechanism for generating electrolyte flows to clean zinc particles on the electrode, the mechanism for collecting and transferring particles generated, and the control system for managing the order of all regeneration functions.
The control system consists of a customized microprocessor control board and proprietary embedded software.
Now, all of these functions have been successfully integrated to be able to produce zinc Pellet Fuels.
