On Wednesday night, the Icelandic capital turned off street lights to allow people to see the Northern Lights.
Reykjavik City Council plans to darken the city between ten o'clock P. M. and eleven o'clock P. M. and eventually turn off the lights until midnight.
Residents have also been asked to destroy their homes on the roads, and drivers have to be extra careful.
Both the tourists and the locals showed amazing performances.
Not only the Icelandic people are affected by natural phenomena.
People from the United Kingdom, the United States and the Faroes also saw the exhibition.
Scientists traditionally believe that the Northern Lights are produced by charged particles carried by the solar wind hitting the Earth's magnetic field.
But the latest evidence suggests that the theory is wrong.
It is not produced by particles, but by the Earth's constantly moving magnetic field.
Although the show on Wednesday night was special, the Icelandic surveillance website said the show on Monday was better.
The northern lights show is expected to continue in the next few days.
