This is the pursuit of e-commercespeed. . .
I'm not talking about the dotcom bubble.
"These instructions are expected to be proof of concept for a larger plan.
The project used two scooters.
Both of them were found to have been thrown away at Stanford University.
Diving in garbage bins may or may not be illegal.
But it's better to ask for forgiveness later.
The first scooter was rusty, not at all. ridable.
It's a 36 v machine.
The second is the model of 24 v, the battery pack is highly sulfuric acid.
If you can get an electric charger, get rid of it: I picked up a battery charger for other items from Port Freight ---
I spent $10 and that's what I really needed--lets get to it.
I did this hack with 3 12 v gel batteries on the 36 v scooter
The 24 v sulfuric acid packaging will be broken down at a later date.
These need to be charged.
I charge them for 1.
5A "smart" charger using multimeter and ammeter to monitor progress.
It's a proof of concept, a pretty dirty hack-
So, things are twisted and clipped together.
This is where it gets tricky. . .
Your connector may well not match--mine didn't.
The best way to do this is to start with a connector.
See if both sides mate.
If they do, more. If Not -
Check the other side of the connector on the other scooter.
Then remove the pin from the connector for Frankenstein exchange.
The pin usually has a small faucet inside-
Push it to the side with a small screwdriver and pull out the wire/pin.
Sometimes there is no remedy.
In this case-
You can insert the needle on the wire into the connector and then fix it with tape.
Make sure they don't short circuit inside the tape as these motor controllers are very sensitive:/you definitely need to connect the following items s1.
Hall effect throttling. Motor3.
For the sake of safety, you should also connect the brake switch.
I can't get the pin out of the power switch--
I don't want to either because I need to move 4 different connectors.
The power switch is turned on when turned off and off when turned on.
My solution is to stick a metal screwdriver inside, cut the pin short and stick it with tape.
Not elegant at all
But the idea is practical.
This is a big question mark.
In fact, the 36 v motor does match the motor bracket on the scooter.
However, the Axis offset is different when the chain is thrown out of alignment. Solution --
Make adapter board. . . . Dirty solution-
The biggest problem with the motor using the 24 v specification is the weather, whether the 24 V motor can handle the new voltage and current. . . .
I used my ammeter between the battery and the controller--
So I can monitor the draw.
It is also a handy power indicator. .
01A draw indicates that the controller is on (the switch circuit is off ).
When you connect everything together-
Connect the battery for the second time and the power switch for the last time.
It may also be a good idea to do a "dry run ---
Motor not connected to rear wheels (via chain ).
Make sure all connections are tight before booting--and insulated.
The last thing you want is to make things short accidentally.
