House Works: Cordless recip saw rivals Jaws of Life for auto rescue - lithium ion battery pack

Power tools have been getting better and better, which is good news for every homeowner who has built or renovated a house.
What is surprising is the degree of improvement.

The effectiveness of this new type of reciprocating saw comes from three advances.

Ion batteries are much better than previous nickel-cadmium batteries.

The ion cordless power tool has not been charged for several months and it will work with almost full power.

The second reason why modern cordless tools work so well is the brushless motor design.
Compared to conventional motors used in cordless tools, these motors last longer, and the brushless motor extracts more work from the battery pack of a given size.
What is more efficient is brushless.
The third reason why the previous saw works so well today is the blade technology.
The Recip saw blade is much better than before, especially in cutting metal.
Home fitting and removal work usually involves cutting wood, but wood that is usually supported with nails and screws.
Metal pipes are never far away.
Ten years ago, the recip saw had no good effect on any kind of metal, even strange deck screws.
The situation is very different today.
I'm not sure what the new metallurgical manufacturer has found, but the best recip blades today are fantastic.
