Cars in the future may have to take a step back.
According to The Associated Press, gm ceo Dan Akerson said the company would buy from Chevrolet Volt if its owners were worried that their car would catch fire.
Akerson insisted the car was safe, but told the store that he wanted to make the customer happy.
On the same day that the news was released, the Consumer Report released a survey that found that Volt owners were most satisfied and 93% responded that they would buy the car again.

Akerson added that GM is willing to redesign the battery pack if any defects are found in an ongoing investigation into the matter, he told Reuters, "We want to ensure the safety of our customers, buyers, so if you want, we will take a moment to try to redesign the battery.
