Florida Power and Lighting will build the world's largest energy storage system to replace two natural gas power plants.
The 409 MW Hainiu energy storage center will be four times larger than the existing record storage battery system, Australia's holanddale power reserve.
The battery will be charged from the existing solar plant.
"This is a landmark milestone in achieving the full benefits of solar power and another example of how FPL works to position Florida as the global gold standard for clean energy," said Eric Silagy, president and CEO of FPL.
"Replacing a large aging fossil fuel plant with a giant battery adjacent to a large solar plant is another world --
The first achievement
"Like many other utilities in the United StatesS.
Around the world, FPL is responsible for replacing fossils --
As the production and life of power stations end, they get fuel.
Previously, natural gas replaced FPL's oil --fired plants.
Non-natural gas found nownuclear, low-
The choice of carbon is increasing.
Florida's last coal-fired power plant is expected to close later this year.
The plan will also save taxpayers $100 million, according to FPL.
It is clear that solar energy varies depending on the time of day and the weather.
Pairing a huge battery with solar means that the energy of the plant can be obtained more easily.
FPL says it will discharge at peak demand.
Typically, this will be when the dial is turned on at the selected responsive gas power plant.
FPL has been using solar energy in recent years.
Earlier this year, it had set itself the goal of installing 30 million solar panels by 2030.
It started in 2017.
The promotion of 5GW solar energy has been going on for 7 years and progress has been made so far.
"Just yesterday, FPL appeared to have started a massive solar expansion in 2016, opening a solar power plant in Parrish," Stephen Steph, chairman of the Council of Governors county commissioners, hainati ·
"A few years later, the solar power plant in our hometown is about to power the world's largest solar power plant --
Battery-powered system.
"As FPL continues to add more variable solar capacity to the network, a range of smaller energy storage systems are also planned by the state's FPL.
