Elon Musk won a $50 bet by building the world's largest ever lithiumion battery.
The billionaire Tesla chairman and chief executive officer delivered a renewable energy project in South Australia, building the world's largest lithium-ion battery.
Mr. Musk and the head of the Tesla battery division, Mr. Linden Ryf, had a severe power outage after a storm in March 2016.
Musk made a bet at the time, saying that Tesla would install and work within 100 days of signing the contract, or $50 (£37m)
The system is free.
This deadline is due to expire on December 1, following the announcement by State Council Prime Minister Jay Witherill that the project has been completed.
The battery will store the energy of the nearby wind farm operated by French renewable energy company Neoen.
"South Australia will return-
Powered this summer through the world's largest lithium-ion battery, which will be powered on for the first time in the next few days as it enters the regulatory testing phase, "Mr Weatherill said.
Musk wrote on Twitter: "Congrats to the Tesla team and the South Australian authorities for such an effort to make and install the car in record time!
"As an electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla has also invested heavily in energy storage and solar panel technology --
It believes its technology can go far beyond power supply to vehicles and power grids.
The deal allowed Tesla to build a 129MWh battery in Jamestown, a small town with a population of less than 1,500 people, more than 120 miles north of Adelaide.
Musk said at the time: "This is not a small attempt at the border . "
"South Australia is willing to do a project that is larger than any other project in the world, and I am very impressed.
"This requires a lot of initiative," he added . ".
"I do think this is something the world will look at as an example. e. "
