The Musselroe wind farm will be the standard for measuring the stability of the State Grid's renewable energy, as it is involved in a trial announced by the federal government.The wind farm located in the northeast is the only wind farm involved in the trial, and the case of measuring frequency control and ancillary services (FCAS) can be applied to intermittent renewable energy sources.Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg is expected to announce the trial on Thursday.
Musselroe will receive $500,000 in the trial, which aims to determine the true ability of wind power to provide balance and control in the state grid.Stephen Ross, general manager of wind farm holding at woolnos, said the study would help the government to better understand the technology."This is an opportunity to demonstrate that wind farms can contribute to the stability and reliability of the grid," he said .

"If this proves to be a viable addition to Musselroe, FCAS will also improve the efficiency, commercial and market importance of our wind farms and pave the way for others to use this technology.The second aspect of the study is that when constraints on the system mean that energy cannot be used, check the option to store wind energy."We will consider a range of options to consider the best options for wind power, including chemical batteries or pumped storage," Mr Ross said .
