I built this electric bike for commuting.
I stretch the rear triangle part in part because I want extra cargo hold in part because I like the look. :-)
I started with a few roadside
I welded the bike together to make an extended frame.
I used a simple fixture (
Made of parts from old fitness carts)
Try to keep things roughly straight; -)
This shows the initial test of the hub motor and controller.
I am using 20Ah 48 v lithium ion battery which is not shown in this photo.
All purchased on EBAY are hub motors, controllers, and batteries.
Pay attention to the two brackets.
I need both due to the stretched frame and battery weight.
I am very satisfied with the performance of this bike.
I can keep 25 miles per hour with a moderate pedal and I can easily commute 15 miles (each way)
The battery still has a spare charge when I get home.
I installed a DC-to-DC converter (
From RC hobby suppliers)
Generate 6 Volt running headlights and taillights-
So all the appliances on the bike are running with a 48 v battery.
