I picked it myself-From my home in Pennsylvania, the antenna for this unit is provided from up stations in North America, Cuba, South America, Europe, Russia, Middle East, China, Japan and Australia.There will be a lot of abuse in the main units.Its structure and durability are truly commendable.
I have passed these channels on many occasions and the dial sensitivity is still not worn out.I even forgot to put this radio all night in the rain while camping and it still works great!I don't recommend abusing this great portable short-wave radio as much as I do (especially putting it in the rain), however, you can rest assured if you don't handle it properly, it is likely to survive your abuse.The only problem I had with this radio was that the FM/SW antenna was broken after widespread use and abuse, but I just called Eaton to ask for an antenna replacement, I soon received a shiny new skyline (I'm not too careless with the antenna right now ).

The battery life of this portable radio is impressive.My radio will give me 6 if Duracell D battery is used-For nearly a month and a half AM/SW hearing 8 hours a day, if I choose to use AA batteries, I usually get about two weeks from the battery with the same amount and type of hearing.You will use more juice to power the FM receiver, so you should expect a slightly less impressive battery life when using FM frequently.
