This is clever.
Take the 218i Active station wagon.
And turn it into a four.
You can drive 25 miles of city wheels by electricity alone.
We deliberately use the word "vehicle" because it is a bit difficult to decide what it is.
It could be an SUV.
Or MPV.
No matter what it is, it works very well.
BMW has put the elements in front-
The wheel drives the 218i Active station wagon and then adds the i8 element, which also sends power to the forward wheel.
As a result, the rear wheels have power supply and the front wheels have gasoline supply.
The power is provided by the motor on the rear shaft and the result is 87 horsepower and a fairly impressive 122lb foot torque.
Gasoline is powered by three-
Cylinder turbocharged engine under the hood.
This gives the front wheels 134bhp and 162lb feet of torque.
It all looks pretty neat, but the size of the tank has been reduced to 36 liters and has been reinforced as well.
This is because the lithium ion battery pack sitting in the back seat has been lifted by 30mm to make room.
Even so, the boots are now 70 liters smaller due to the space occupied by the entire power system.
This is irritating because of the complexity of the car.
But on the road, it all turns into a power system for work.
You can be in frontor rear-
Wheel drive or a combination of the two, with a torque vector function to further enhance traction.
Drivers can play in three driving modes: self-driving, maximum driving and battery saving.
The range of modes allows you to run purely on a battery, use it in a zero emission zone, or use a battery with a gasoline stand, or use a pure gasoline power supply to save charge.
In theory, you only have 25 miles in a quiet run, but if you do anything else, then that total will go straight down soon.
But the combination of drives is seamless.
In the town, the high torque when the motor is still is noteworthy and welcome.
When you drive faster on the open road, a combination of two driving methods or just a petrol engine will give you a feeling of relaxation.
Very good handling, predictable and low lean level, good turn
A kind of confidence. The four-
Even in harsh conditions, the wheel drive does tie the car to the road.
The cottage is nice and well made as you would expect, whether it's hanging around London or fighting on 2. 2, the whole machine works seamlessly.
It made a four.
Wheel Drive, fully electric power and very modern gasoline-
Electric power systems look smart and attractive.
Since it costs £ 1310 more than 225i xDrive Active Tourer for £ 33,050, this is a very compelling case in the real world.
