German energy storage company Sonnen has begun assembling batteries in Adelaide, using part of the old Holden site in the north of the city.
Sonnen will use the plant as a production base for its batteries sold in Australia, Asia and the SouthPacific market.
"In the next five years, assembling and manufacturing 50,000 energy storage systems in Adelaide will create about 430 manufacturing and installation jobs in the state and place South Australia at the center of this developing industry, Tuesday, south African Prime Minister Steven Marshall said.
