The hyped home battery promises to slash electricity bills by allowing consumers to store solar energy when the sun is no longer shining, which is already available in Australia.
The cost of a complete residential system, including Tesla's Powerwall battery, was announced on Thursday at about $15,000, which includes solar panels and inverters for switching the DC output of the panels to the AC power supply needed for home use.
Like Germany, which is about energy from renewable sources, Australia is now only one of two countries outside the United States with power wall batteries.
"We think this opportunity is an opportunity to educate the public in this field --
"Breaking technology and more," said Chris Williams, general manager of natural Solar, one of the top three companies selling batteries.
"Australia is one of the first countries in the world to adopt renewable energy technologies.
"With a 10-year battery warranty, the upfront cost is advantageous compared to the average electricity bill of $1,690, according to the estimates of the utility comparison service billing Republic.
It should also protect users from power outages and reduce demand for coal energyand gas-

Tesla Motors said it was discussing with other companies to expand its partners in Australia, including network providers, solar installers and power suppliers.

As part of the transition to renewable energy, power stations sell batteries ahead of time, simply bundling them with panels and inverters.
It said that some solar panels with built-in inverters are not compatible with Powerwall, and once the method of transforming the technology is studied, it will announce independent options in the coming months.
The original solar system takes about $9,000 less batteries. California-
Tesla says there is no reason for the technology to be announced by chief executive Elon Musk in May and cannot be sold as a separate unit, depending on how the supplier packs it.
Another seller announced on Thursday that it would simply sell the battery individually or in packaging, with its first installation scheduled for early 2016.
Origin Energy became the first power company in the world to fully commit to the international business initiative on climate change in October, including carbon pricing, the seventh largest solar installation company in Australia, with 400,000 customers.
"The home battery is not for everyone at this early stage,. . .
"We are confident that there will be early adopters of great interest," said Origin chief executive Frank Calabria . ".
