Andhra Pradesh will set an example for other states to combine solar energy with the grid, when the proposed 100 MW storage capacity will be green in the Anantapur and Kadapa regions
This is a pilot project supported by the Ministry of new energy and renewable energy (MNRE).
"No other country has built solar energy storage, it's a new concept across the world" Andhra Pradesh, a new and renewable energy development company (NREDCAP)Vice-
Chairman and general managerKamalakar Babu.
On Thursday, Andhra Pradesh spoke to Hinduism on the sidelines of the "renewable investment: Andhra Pradesh 2016" meeting here.
Kamalakar Babu says energy storage facilities will help automatically adjust frequencies when solar, wind or hybrid energy is exported to the grid.
He observed that since solar and wind are "weak" power supplies, their integration with the grid must be regulated and that storage facilities are the only way to achieve this.
"NREDCAP and private solar and wind energy developers are creating 1,000 MW of solar and wind energy in the antapur and Kadapa regions, and the proposed 100 MW buffer zone will help stabilize the grid, he said.
A variety of storage solutions, such as lithium ion batteries or zinc oxide batteries, have been explored, and the project will soon take shape. Mr.
Kamalakar Babu said the green energy corridor will set up areas for solar power generation, equipment manufacturing, R & D and training centers.
The cost of the project will be borne by the central government (
National Clean Energy Fund
Japan International Cooperation Agency, APTransco.
Due to the high volume of capacity increases that require upgrading of existing infrastructure, the focus is on grid management.
"The government is focusing on developing hybrid energy.
Hybrid of solar and wind energy
Policies and tariffs.
In addition, in a year or two, priority will be given to generating 35 MW of electricity through the solar system on the roof of government buildings . "
Added Kamalakar Babu.
Municipal companies have partnered with PPS Enviro Power Pvt technology to commission 200 KW of roof Power generation at target 500 KW. Ltd.
